Karim Benzema’s Move to Al Ittihad and Umrah Performance: A Legendary Career Transition

French striker Karim Benzema, who joined Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, reached Makkah and performed Umrah. Benzema signed a three-year contract with Al Ittihad. The salary will be five and a half million dollars per year. Al Ittihad are the current winners of the Saudi Pro League. 35-year-old Benzema ended his 14-year legendary career at Real Madrid and moved to Saudi Arabia.

In 2009, Spanish giants Real Madrid brought Benzema to Santiago Bernabeu for 35 million euros. Benzema arrived at Real Madrid without much fanfare in the same year that Florentino Perez introduced the new generation of Real, including Cristiano and Kaká. But the player quickly became a crucial presence in the forward line of Royal.

The player was involved in 24 titles with Real, including five Champions League titles and four league titles. Benzema is Real’s second all-time top goalscorer and the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner. Former Real teammate Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Al Nasser in the Saudi League.
