Karachi Kings set Islamabad United a target of 166 runs for victory

In the match of the ninth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings have given a target of 166 runs to Islamabad United for victory.

In the first match of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League being played in Karachi, Islamabad United won the toss and decided to bat first. The beginning of the innings of Karachi Kings was not good and Tim Seifert was stumped and became the wicket of Imad Wasim following scoring only 8 runs on a total of 17.

Lewis de Ploy came in to support captain Shaun Masood and both of them added 40 runs for the second wicket to take the score to 57 but on the same score Ploy’s 24 off 15 balls came to an end.

The score had just reached 73 when Karachi Kings suffered a double blow and captain Shan Masood, who scored 27 runs, along with Shoaib Malik also returned to the pavilion.

Muhammad Nawaz’s stay on the wicket was also short and he too continued with only 6 runs.

At this difficult stage, Irfan Khan came to support Kieron Pollard and both the players put on an excellent performance and made a partnership of 76 runs in the last 7 overs.

Karachi Kings scored 165 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted overs, Pollard scored 48 runs off 28 balls and Irfan scored 27 runs off 22 balls.

Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Agha Salman and Haneen Shah took one wicket each for Islamabad United.
