Karachi Kings: In the absence of Babar Azam and Imad Wasim, eyes on Shan Masood

In the last decade, a video of Chand Nawab, a TV reporter from Karachi, before Eid went viral so much that his popularity reached India and the role was adopted in a super hit film.

Karachi Kings have made their promo in 2024 with the same reporter who is reaching new heights of popularity.

Chand Nawab removes the players who appear repeatedly in the promo and then says in a characteristic manner ‘Karachi Kings’ Lions are ready for PSL 9′.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) The ninth edition is starting from 17 February 2024 in Lahore.

The opening match of the season will be between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United while the match between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans will be held in Multan on February 18, 2024.

This year is different for Karachi Kings who have won this title once in 2020 as the then conqueror Babar Azam and captain Imad Wasim have left the team.

Mohammad Amir and Sharjeel Khan are also absent while this season’s storm batsman Alex Hales is also unavailable.

The leadership of Karachi Kings is in the hands of Shaan Masood, who has previously led Multan Sultans and is also the Test captain of the national team.

Shaan Masood is a fighter player. The baseball cricket he has adopted over the past year without fearing the consequences has enhanced his glory.

He is the only batsman of Pakistan who believes in aggressive strategy in Test cricket.

Yorkshire’s captaincy and his aggressive tactics against Australia have also been recognized by Australian commentators.

Shaan Masood is the captain as well as the opener of the team. Along with them, Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Nawaz and Arafat Minhas are also notable among the local players, but Saad Baig and Anwar Ali can also bat when needed.

Selection will be difficult for the Kings due to the influx of foreign players. New Zealand’s Tim Siffert and James Vince will be the main batsmen.

Kieron Pollard is also in the team but a big performance from him will be difficult now. He has retired from international cricket but can do something with his experience.

The most important name in bowling is Hasan Ali who has come to trade from Islamabad and Imad Wasim has moved there.

Mir Hamza and Aamir Khan are the other important bowlers while Tabriz Shamsi and Arafat Minhas who have been holding the first position for many years in spin bowling.

Arafat Minhas has shown excellent performance in the recent U-19 World Cup.

A half-century against Australia in the last match semi-final and two wickets for just 20 runs in 10 overs have foreshadowed his brilliant career. He is a left-arm spinner and bowls fast.

Karachi Kings also have Jimmy Overton and Sirajuddin in bowling.

If a thorough review is done, the team president Wasim Akram has made some mistakes in the selection of players.

The batting looks a bit weak and that is the mistake Karachi have been making for the last four years.

Babar Azam also disagreed on the same, but Wasim Akram himself was an all-rounder, so he prefers all-rounders.

Another problem Karachi Kings may face is that Seifert may not be able to play the entire league as the New Zealand team has to play the T20 series against Australia till February 28, which may affect the team’s combination.

There may be many winning players of Karachi Kings but Shaan Masood is the most eyed.

Karachi Kings will play at their home ground against Islamabad on February 28, 2024 but the support of cricket fans for Karachi Kings will not only be in Karachi but also in other centers.

Get ready for what the Karachi Kings Lions are up to now and keep your eyes fixed on your TV screens as the Lions are ready to roar against the Multan Sultans on February 18.

Whatever the result may be, the lions of Karachi are coming.
