Karachi, JN1 corona variant confirmed in two more passengers: Health Department

Department of Sindh health Says from abroad Karachi Six more incoming passengers have tested positive for rapid antigen, two of them Corona JN1 variant of (Corona) has been confirmed.

According to the spokesman of the health department, Karachi from abroad so far Airport Rapid antigen tests of 15 arriving passengers have come positive. Including six passengers of flights coming from abroad on Saturday and Sunday.

Spokesperson of Sindh Health Department, Shabbir Ali Babar, while talking to Independent Urdu, said that out of these six people, JAN variant of Corona has been confirmed.

The health department says that the health department is on alert regarding the JN1 variant and instructions have been issued in all DHOs, THQs and hospitals of Sindh.

Due to the fact that this virus is not very strong, the victims have been instructed to stay in quarantine at home.

According to medical experts, the new variant of covid-19 is not as powerful as JN1 covid-19, but caution is necessary.

The passengers who have tested positive for Rapid Antigen tests include residents of Mingora, Mirpur Mathilo, Rahim Yar Khan, Jacobabad and Peshawar who have arrived in Karachi from abroad.

According to the health department, these passengers were tested for possible symptoms of Covid-19. Out of 15 positive cases of rapid antigen test, 11 passengers have PCR test positive while the results of four are yet to come. While out of 11 positive PCR test cases, two passengers are JN1 variant positive.

According to the spokesman, so far, out of the seven positive cases of JN1 variant, two are abroad while five are local.

He appealed to the public to take precautionary measures to prevent the possible spread of Covid-19.

Before that Pakistan The Ministry of Health last Monday confirmed four cases of the new variant of the corona virus JN1 in the country and said that the situation is being closely monitored.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said in a statement that the new variant of Corona is a sub-virus of Omicron.

According to the spokesman, ‘All the affected people had mild symptoms of the new corona variant and all four patients have recovered without any complications.’

According to the statement, border health services, national and provincial health authorities, labs are fully operational and alert to monitor diseases on the instructions of the caretaker health minister.
