Karachi: 14-day judicial remand of the woman who ‘crushed’ two people

The city court of Karachi has sent the accused to jail on 14-day judicial remand after registering non-bailable provisions in the case of the death of a father and daughter due to a car collision in Karsaz.

On Wednesday, the accused Natasha was presented in the court with her face covered with a cloth, while Shane Alexander, who was injured in the accident, also appeared with the support of a stick. The hearing of the case continued for half an hour in the courtroom.

During the trial, the investigating officer requested the court to remand the accused for 14 days. During the hearing, the Investigating Officer took the stand that Section 322 has been added to the case for murder, which is non-bailable.

The plaintiff’s lawyer, Barrister Aziz Ghori, requested the court to ‘find out what kind of drug the woman was under that took the lives of two people’. On this occasion, the court asked the accused the name of her husband, on which the accused told that her husband’s name is Danish.

The court inquired that ‘the police did not do any violence to you, to which the accused said that no violence was done to her.’

Later, the court sent the accused to jail on 14-day judicial remand while ordering to present a challan to the investigating officer at the next hearing.

The lawyer of the plaintiff, Barrister Aziz Ghori, in a conversation with the media after the hearing of the case, said that after the medical report, it will be clear that the accused Natasha was in a state of intoxication, the question also arises that if the mental condition of the woman is not correct So why was the car given to them?

Along with this, plaintiff Imtiaz Arif also stated that ‘Society does not exist in such a way that people drive indiscriminately while intoxicated and take the lives of innocent people.’

On the other hand, she has been discharged from Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital where the accused Natasha was undergoing treatment.

According to Dr. Chanilal, head of the psychiatric ward of Jinnah Hospital, ‘When the accused was brought to the hospital on August 19, her physical condition was not good. The family of the accused said that she is ‘mentally ill’. However, the family could not provide any record in this regard. The mental condition of the accused is perfectly fine, the chances of committing suicide are low.’

On the service road near Karsaz on Monday, female driver Natasha’s Toyota Land Cruiser went out of control, causing her to hit two oncoming motorcycles, after which her vehicle collided with a car and overturned.

62-year-old motorcyclist Imran Arif and his daughter Amina 23-year-old lost their lives in this collision, while five people including 55-year-old Abdul Salam son of Ishaq were injured.
