A former police officer Kansas was arrested and is charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting two women, following Team Roc sued the Kansas City Police Department for misconduct and corruption. Team Roc is a social justice advocacy group co-founded by Jay-Z.
The arrest of the former officer is celebrated by Team Roc
Golubski is accused of sexually assaulting two women between 1998 et 2002 following Team Roc’s legal action. The organization’s chief executive reacted to the news of the arrest in a statement: “We stand in solidarity with the people of Kansas City who are patiently waiting for justice and accountability. Roger’s arrest Golubski is an important step towards creating a safer community and we applaud the Department of Justice for its commitment, diligence and thorough work in this investigation.“
Separately, the Roc team called the corruption in Kansas City “one of the worst examples of abuse of power in US history.” Likewise, At Team Roc also wrote this, in a letter to the Kansas Deputy Attorney General: “We are determined to hold these so-called officials to account for alleged acts of brutality and exploitation on a massive scale and we demand a meeting with the DOJ to discuss findings that we hope will inspire you to take action“.
Golubski, who worked in law enforcement for 35 ansfaces life in prison if convicted.
