Washington/Kansas City. Three people were killed and two others injured in a shooting at a nightclub in the US city of Kansas City on Sunday night. Two of the victims died at the scene, another in the hospital, the police said on Sunday. The emergency call was received around 1:25 a.m. (local time). Police found one of the dead inside the club and another outside the building. According to the police, it is probably adults, but there was no information on their age and gender.

It was not immediately known who fired the shots and why. Homicide and forensics investigated the crime scene, the police said. One of the injured is in critical condition, the other is stable. The US has long faced massive levels of gun violence. Incidents of this kind are part of everyday life. Kansas City, with a population of around 500,000, is located on the western edge of the US state of Missouri on the Kansas border.
