According to Kansas City police, one person died and at least 10 were injured in the incident. It is said that the shooting occurred less than 30 minutes following the parade ended, and many participants were gathered nearby. Kansas City Police Department spokesman Capt. Jake Beckina said, “Towards the end of the rally, shots were fired near the garage west of Union Station, and several people were shot.”
Police have arrested and are detaining at least two people believed to be involved in this incident, and are evacuating parade participants through nearby parking lots.
