LOS ANGELES, California (EFE).— Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris participated yesterday afternoon in a rally in Glendale, Arizona, which, as happened days ago, was again interrupted by cries of “Free Palestine.”
“Now is the time to get a ceasefire agreement and the release of the hostages. The president (Joe Biden) and I are working tirelessly every day to get that agreement. So I respect their opinions, but we are here to talk about the 2024 presidential race,” Kalama said.
The Democratic candidate thus showed a much more diplomatic attitude than the one she showed this week in the face of a similar incident, when she cut the protests short by stating a resounding: “I’m the one speaking.”
The vice president appeared yesterday alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, at an event in Glendale, 14 kilometers northwest of Phoenix, as part of a tour of key states.
Error con Taylor Swift
Incidentally, the alleged silhouette of Kamala Harris in a photo shared this week by Taylor Swift, which the US press speculated would be a show of support for the vice president’s candidacy, turned out to be a dancer from the singer’s tour.
Taylor, known for sending secret messages to fans, posted several photos from her concert in Warsaw, Poland, on Tuesday, but attention was drawn to one that showed a dark silhouette that reporters believed was of Kamala waving behind the star, who was in the foreground.
CNN reviewed the singer’s posts on her Eras Tour and noted that the dancers are dressed in pantsuits, as Kamala is accustomed to, but in this case the silhouette is wearing boots, part of the show’s attire, while the politician usually wears heels or sneakers.
Taylor Swift, who has a great influence on the younger strata of American society, has not publicly endorsed any candidate in the upcoming elections, and in the text accompanying the photo the artist only refers to her concert and does not mention anything related to politics.
In 2020, the star endorsed Biden, telling V Magazine: “I will be proudly voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election.”
