Kamala Harris, with a slight advantage

NEW YORK (EFE).— Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has a slight lead of one point nationally over former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump, according to a CBS News and YouGov poll.

According to the poll, Harris received 50% of the voters surveyed and Trump 49%.

However, this advantage is within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 2.1 points.

More Democrats and Black voters said in the poll that they would “definitely vote,” but Kamala will have to continue generating enthusiasm, particularly in key states, to maintain her lead.

The poll questioned 3,102 registered voters across the United States between July 30 and August 2.

Following the publication of the poll, the Republican tycoon’s campaign said in a statement that the results of the survey were “manipulated,” although it did not provide any evidence.

CNN published an average of four recent national polls — including the CBS poll — showing Trump has 49% voter support and Kamala has 47%.

Before President Joe Biden dropped out of the re-election race, he was trailing the Republican candidate by five points.

Biden resigned on July 21, bowing to pressure from several members and donors of his party.
