Kamala Harris Celebrates Biden’s Legacy as She Aims for Presidency Amidst Strong Party Support

The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, celebrated this Monday Joe Biden’s legacy as “unmatched in modern history,” in her first public appearance since the current president announced his resignation from re-election and his support for Harris to be chosen by the party as his successor.

Lawyer, senator, vice president, and now could she be the first woman to become president of the United States? While she faces the prospect of being elected by the Democrats, she would also have to confront a strengthened Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump.

However, the support she has received from her own party has been quite notable, and it was just during a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, showed his backing and described her as a “strong,” “fearless,” and “tenacious” woman, stating that she is the best option to counter Donald Trump’s vision and lead the country toward a more promising future.

Although some politicians aspire to the presidency, Garamendi pointed out that they will have to wait until the next electoral cycle, as Harris has a significant advantage. He also mentioned that if she becomes the nominee, it’s likely that other female candidates will be considered for the vice presidency.

It is worth noting that Kamala Harris has already broken barriers when, in January 2021, she became the first woman, Black woman, and woman of South Asian descent to hold the office of Vice President.
