Kamala Harris campaign receives $7 million donation from Netflix co-founder

LOS ANGELES, California, USA—This Wednesday, according to the American media The Informationa business publication focused on the technology industry based in San Francisco, California, exclusively announced that Reed Hastingsco-founder of Netflixdonated seven million dollars to the presidential campaign of Kamala Harriscurrent vice president of the United States.

“After a depressing debate, we’re back in the game,” the streaming platform’s CEO told the outlet, adding that this is the largest political donation Hastings has ever made to a single candidate.

Hastings is one of the most powerful Democratic Party donors who pressured the president Joe Biden to withdraw his candidacy for the next elections to be held in November.

“Biden must step aside to allow a strong Democratic leader to defeat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous,” he told The New York Times earlier this month.

Biden dropped his bid for the White House on Sunday and endorsed Harris, after facing pressure from members of Congress and donors following criticism over her weak performance in the first debate against Donald Trump (2017-2021) that took place on June 27.
