NEW YORK (AP).— In her appearance yesterday on ABC’s “The View,” Vice President Kamala Harris was unable to mention a decision she would have made differently than President Joe Biden.
Her response sums up Kamala’s challenge to present herself as a candidate who can bring about the change voters want after serving four years as a loyal member of the current government.
“Obviously, we are two different people,” Kamala said, adding that “I will bring those sensitivities to my way of governing.”
Pressed to say where she would have diverged from Mr. Biden if he had been in charge, Ms. Harris said, “Nothing comes to mind.”
Privately, some Kamala advisers lamented as Republicans quickly circulated scenes of the response. It wasn’t until later in the show that Ms. Harris identified something she would have done differently than Biden: She would have put a Republican in her Cabinet.
Kamala said she would welcome input from a Republican “because I’m not burdened by letting pride get in the way of a good idea.”
The Democratic candidate is on a media campaign, and her caravan takes her from one studio to another in New York.
