They used to sing duets for fun, sometimes with other groups. For three years, Kiran, 26, and his sister Lina, 21, launched their group, KAM. He likes blues and rock, she has been playing rap songs on repeat since she was little. They naturally decided to change their style.
No more traditional singing, make way for rap, “because the writing technique is super interesting. For us, it is the most used form of poetry today. Rap with substance allows for more metaphors, figures of speech… We still keep a sung part,” says the duo, who evokes betrayals and lies, but also love and the happiness of being surrounded by a family.
After two EPs, he decided to pick up the pace and “come up with something that sends a message”. A mixtape, Orbitae vol 1, was released in July. Since February, a single has been released on the 20th of each month. Sometimes accompanied by a clip, all produced by Bloom Videos, which also takes care of the group’s photos.
“Multiply the concerts”
“We are fortunate to have hardworking and competent people who help us do quality work. We want to be serious in our approach and above all not have any regrets. If our music breaks through, we have to be ready. Today, we are discovered via our social networks, but especially the stage. In Brest, we played at the Salle du Clous during the regional Pulsations springboard, during the Pétarinettes, we also did the music festival in 2022 and a concert at the Gueule de bois. The idea is really to increase the number of concerts in the future. »
In Brest, or elsewhere. “We have already played in Paris and in the Nantes region, where we are from. I’ve been in Brest for a few years now, I love it. Besides, our next clip, Nuit, is a reference to lots of places in the city. It will be released on November 20,” enthuses Kiran. He hopes to be able to make a living from his passion one day, without betting everything on it.
A second mixtape soon to be finished
He is a cultural coordinator at the Brest remand center. Lina is in her fifth year of engineering school and has just left for Austria for four months to finalize her studies. Don’t worry, the duo has enough pieces aside to continue showcasing their work for a few months until their sister returns.

The second part of their mixtape is already almost complete. It should be released in February or March 2024 and “will have slightly darker parts than the first”. But it will always be as rhythmic, “the people who listen to us must not get bored”.
