Kollam / Kozhikode ∙ Minister V. Sivankutty said that the controversy related to the welcome song at the state school arts festival will be investigated and action will be taken. The Minister directed the Director of Public Education to conduct an inquiry and submit a report within a week. The minister said that it has been decided that the group that did the visual demonstration will no longer participate in the art fair. A teachers association was in charge of the reception committee. They had seen the welcome song during the rehearsal but did not recognize it as it was not a dress rehearsal. The minister said that it was not the position of the left wing government that was presented on the stage.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged with the Kozhikode police once morest the welcome song at the school arts festival. High Court lawyer and state secretary of Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle V.R. Anup filed the complaint. The complaint has also pointed out Minister Muhammad Riaz’s remark that a religious group has been portrayed as terrorists in the welcome song and that the conspiracy should be investigated.
