Congress leaders and the media, who dragged Mohanan Namboothiri into controversy following serving excellent food to everyone at the state school arts festival, were upset when the Congress leaders withdrew from the cooking. They diverted the discussion of non-vegetarian food into caste and communal lines. Even though Congress leader VT Balaram is now trying to escape by saying that his statement was not meant to be in the old place, the malice of causing controversy is clear. A section of the Congress is of the view that Balaram’s action was not right.
