Kakao Games to promote Uma Musume user meeting

– Uma Musume User Representative Daesung Park Deputy Manager

Kakao Games announced that it is willing to hold a meeting with user representatives to resolve the Uma Musume incident. The conflict between users and Kakao Games, which started from a rating protest and continued to a refund lawsuit, seems to be finding a clue with the apology of CEO Jo Gye-hyun.

On the night of the 3rd, Kakao Games sent an e-mail to Daesung Park, the representative of Uma Musume user, saying that it would positively consider holding a meeting. Park informed the community about this at around 1:45 am on the 4th. The Uma Musume user delegation has continuously requested Kakao Games to hold user meetings for better service.

Looking at the email of Kakao Games released by Mr. Park, he said, “I sincerely thank you for suggesting an opportunity to have a conversation despite disappointing us with our inadequacies.” I agree with the need for a meeting where we can have serious communication,” he said.

Kakao Games further explained that consultation between the publisher and the developer is necessary to hold the meeting. It added that the developer, Cygames, requested a positive review of the meeting.

Kakao Games said, “We plan to try our best to reply by 23:59 on the 5th, as stated in the statement.

In a post posted to the community, user representative Dae-seong Park said, “At about 23:40, a reply from Kakao Games saying that they are reviewing the meeting positively arrived. I think it is a reply to the response to the previous apology from CEO Jo Gye-hyun. We will wait for a positive reply.”

Users commented, “It’s not a neat way to handle it, but it’s good”, “I’ll do it, but it’s a review, so it seems like they’re just going to put it off somehow”, “I believe that they will guide the schedule after 5 days of review”, “Should I even discuss this with the developer?” , “Does Cygames have absolute power?”, “You won’t answer that the meeting will be difficult without Cygames’ permission?” The reaction was half anticipation and half concern. It seems to be a wish that they can show how to deal with certainty and speedily as much as they have lost trust.

On the other hand, Uma Musume users are dissatisfied with the operation of Kakao Games, and are pushing for a refund protest following rating protests, carriage protests, and truck protests. Uma Musume protesters are investigating the payment amount of users who are willing to refund and searching for a law firm in charge. By 2 am on the 4th, there were 7,679 users who were willing to refund, and the amount was 8.678.94 million won.
