Kailia Posey, who was a child star on the American show Toddlers & Tiarasdied at age 16, reported his family.
The mother of PoseyMarcy Posey Gatterman announced the news this week.
“I have no words or thinking“he wrote, sharing a photo of his daughter dressed for the school prom on his Facebook account. “A beautiful girl has gone.”
In addition, he requested privacy to do the duel for the loss of his daughter.
Posey became known following her sassy Girl smile at the age of 5 it became a widely shared gif on social media.
Toddlers & Tiaraswhich aired on the TLC network between 2009 and 2013, followed the contestants’ families in a children’s beauty pageant.
There are conflicting accounts of Posey’s cause of death and the BBC has been unable to independently confirm what happened.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office in the state of Washington told the entertainment portal People that an official investigation into the young woman’s death has been opened.
Bianca, Posey’s best friend, paid tribute to the young woman on Instagram, describing her as “a amazing and beautiful person inside and outside”.
“You were a alma so bright and happy. I am so thankful for you Kailia, you really brought out my happier side,” she wrote. “You reminded me to always be kind no matter how hard it gets.”
After his stint on the show, Posey continued to compete in pageants. Earlier this year, she announced that she would be competing in Miss Washington Teen USA.
Toddlers & Tiaras It went off the air for several years following generating controversy for showing provocatively dressed children, but was re-aired in 2016.
