We are pleased to inform you that we have reached an agreement with Kai Toews (Utsunomiya Brex) for the 2022-23 season player contract (new).
Taves experienced Japan national team by age group and went to the United States in high school. In college, he finished second overall in Division 1 with an average number of assists per game in the NCAA Rookie Year.
Even following participating in the B League, he won the title of Best Rookie Player Award in the 2020-21 season, and in 2021 he was ranked first in the league by fan voting in B.LEAGUE’s Valentine’s Day project “Mote Otoko No. 1 Final Battle”. It’s shining.
Experienced the B League Final for the second consecutive year at Utsunomiya Brex. This season I won the championship at the age of 23.
Please look forward to the success of the FIBA World Cup, which will be held in Japan in 2023, and the Lakes of the young commander, who is expected to participate in the Paris Olympic Games in 2012!

Kai is one of the best point guard in Japan and he might play in any league in the world . Very good physical and top talent player.
Excellent P&R player . He can use all types to finish from P&R; pull up , lay up , kick out, assist and so on.
He is young but he has an amazing personality to lead the team to top level.
Kai Toews is one of Japan’s best PGs and can play an active part in any league in the world.

We are very pleased that Kai Toews, a PG who has experienced overseas championships, B league finals, and victory, will join Shiga Lakestars.
By having PG teams with different colors, I feel that we will become a team that can handle various games.
I’ve seen Taves grow every season since he entered the B League. He was one of the most distressed players in the match we played once morest Utsunomiya in March.
He is a player who has great potential to grow. With the addition of Taves players with high pick and roll skills, the offense of the team will also be improved.
I feel that the play style and basketball sense of Taves will make a big difference to the team in terms of defense!
