Kafr El-Sheikh announces the provision of service to 60115 pregnant women under the maternal and fetal health initiative

The Undersecretary stated that the medical teams in the initiative have provided medical services to 60,115 pregnant women in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate so far, at a rate of 97.9% of the target, and the number of those examined last week was 814 women.

She pointed out that the initiative aims to reach a generation of children with good health and free of diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus, and to reduce deaths resulting from these diseases, as it targets pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth; This is for early detection of various infectious diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus and diseases that may affect the health of the fetus; To prevent its transmission to him, in addition to detecting diabetes and pressure for pregnant women, adding that follow-up and treatment services are provided through medical centers and health units in the governorate.

Sawsan, that those who are discovered to be infected are directed and referred to receive the necessary evaluation and treatment in the specific referral hospitals in the governorate, according to the type of disease the mother has, in addition to activating and improving the quality of routine services they provide within the protocol for the care of pregnant women through maternal and child care services, stressing the equipment of medical clinics and examination places. and availability of medical supplies.

He stressed the medical teams’ privacy for the examination sites, confidentiality of results, good treatment of women and a good reception for those reluctant to the presidential initiative.

Salam added that the presidential initiative to support maternal and fetal health aims to medical examination for pregnant and non-Egyptian women in the cities and villages of the governorate, in the age group over 18 years, between education, awareness and medical examination, through a medical team trained in examination work, including “doctors, nurses, data entry.” and rural pioneers”, with a total of 182 medical teams distributed over 11 departments.

She confirmed that in the order of the departments as follows, in terms of the highest frequencies, the Hamoul Health Department, followed by the Desouk Health Department, followed by the Kafr El-Sheikh Health Department.
