The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, promised to carry out educational work with the residents of Urus-Martan, who on December 10 came into conflict with the traffic police. He threatened to send those “who want war, fights” to the area of the special operation.
“An incident happened in Urus-Martan yesterday… People gathered, surrounded the employees, I want to say… to all those who were there, if you are men, you want to fight… get together, fight with the employees, or we will we’ll collect it, send it to the territory where the special operation is taking place,” Mr. Kadyrov said in a video posted on his assistant’s Instagram page (owned by Meta, which is banned in Russia as extremist).
The RIA Novosti agency published a video of an alleged conflict between Urus-Martan residents and traffic police officers. In the video, a group of at least 50 people gathered on one of the squares of Urus-Martan. As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the traffic police in Chechnya, the residents of the city reacted aggressively to the requirements to comply with traffic rules.
The head of the traffic police department for Chechnya, Idris Cherkhigov, told “Grozny-inform”that the search for participants in the conflict are 500 law enforcement officers. He stated that the raids would go on until “all the participants in this incident are caught and they learn to respect the employees, as well as follow the rules of the road.”
November 21 Ramzan Kadyrov informedthat a man with a knife attacked a traffic police officer in Grozny during prayer. The attacker tried to escape with a service weapon, he was shot dead.
