Kochi: Kerala Blasters announced the team for the Hero Super Cup. The 29-member squad led by Jessel Carneiro includes all the key players like Rahul KP, Sahal Abdul Samad, Apostolos Gianu, Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, Victor Mongil, Marko Leskovic, Hormipam Ruiva, Ivan Kaliushni and Dimitrios Diamantakos.
Blasters’ first match is once morest I-League champions Round Glass Punjab at the EMS Stadium in Kozhikode on April 8. Superstar Adrian Luna will not participate in the tournament as the club has extended his holiday due to personal reasons. Meanwhile, all the other foreign players in the team except Luna have resumed training with the team following the ISL break.
In the 29-member team, 11 players are Malayalis. Rahul KP, Sahal Abdul Samad, Srikuttan MS, Sachin Suresh, Nihal Sudheesh, Vibin Mohanan, Bijoy Varghese, Mohammad Azhar, Mohammad Aymen, Mohammad Zaheef and Tejas Krishna are the Malayali players in the team. Kerala Blasters Sporting Director Karolis Skinkis said that they are entering the Hero Super Cup with the aim of winning the title.
