During a political morning held on March 10, 2024 at the UDPS headquarters in Limete, Augustin Kabuya castigated the attitude of those who do not recognize what the head of state has done for his political family since his accession to the supreme office.
For Augustin Kabuya, those who say this kind of thing are sorcerers and liars. He cites as an example the fact that many Party members bought cars during Félix Tshisekedi’s first term.
“We know each other well within this party, we all used to come here. And 80% of our members were pedestrians, let’s be honest. But under Félix Tshisekedi, the vehicles are filling up here, today you park vehicles here, and even behind. Before, it didn’t exist,” he said.
Also during this political morning, Augustin Kabuya launched a dig at the former president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila Kabange.
According to Augustin Kabuya, the current head of state has done things for his political party the UDPS, which Joseph Kabila never did for the PPRD in 18 years in power.
“Kabila was in power for 18 years, he never did for the PPRD what Félix Tshisekedi did for the UDPS. Clap for him [Félix Tshisekedi, ndlr] », Said the general secretary of the UDPS to the cheers of the party activists and fighters present at the said morning.
In the process, Augustin Kabuya supported his argument in particular by the fact that the head of state designated a member of the UDPS as an informant.
“To show his love towards his party, the UDPS, on the day he took his oath, he thanked everyone, but more particularly the UDPS (…) After this step, he said that he will nominate an informant within the UDPS. I have to take the first of them, it’s the general secretary. He made me an informant to identify the parliamentary majority,” he insisted.
Let us also recall that the SG of the UDPS took advantage of this opportunity to announce that the next prime minister will come from the presidential party.
