Afghanistan international cricketer Siddiqullah Atal scored 42 runs in an over in T20 match of Kabul Premier League.
According to the website Cricinfo, the honor of scoring the most runs in a T20 over is held by West Indies’ Chris Gayle, who scored 37 runs off six balls in the 2011 IPL. But Siddique left Gayle behind by a margin of five runs.
This record was made when Afghanistan domestic T20 tournament I Shaheen Hunters were playing against Abbasin Defenders at Ayubi Cricket Stadium.
When spinner Amir Zazai bowled his first ball in the 19th over, 21-year-old all-rounder Siddique was playing on 76 runs and his team had scored 158 runs for the loss of six wickets.
