Meanwhile, K Rail MD rejected Minister Saji Cherian’s claim that the Silver Line will not have a buffer zone. K Rail MD said there will be a 10 meter buffer zone on both sides of the Silver Line track. No construction will be allowed within five meters of this. The rest can be constructed with permission. He added that the buffer zone was determined under the existing law.
A survey is being conducted to find out the socio-economic and environmental impact of the project. Land acquisition can be done only following the completion of the survey and the approval of the Railways. In case of any need to acquire land, the land will be acquired only with full compensation. Preliminary steps are being taken to determine the need for the project. The government should approve the alignment following studying the opinion of the families of the victims of the stoning along the route of the alignment final. The study report will then be submitted to the Railways. Proceedings, including land acquisition, can be started only following the approval of the railway project.

Proceed with stoning. The stone will be re-stoned where it was taken. If there are interruptions, the social impact study will be delayed.
