(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Ahn Jung-hoon = Singer Park Jin-young donated 1 billion won for domestic and foreign pediatric and adolescent patients.
According to JYP Entertainment on the 28th, Park Jin-young donated 500 million won each to Samsung Seoul Hospital and World Vision, an international relief and development non-governmental organization (NGO), on the 9th of this month.
The donation will be used to pay for surgery and rehabilitation treatment for children and adolescent patients under the age of 24 in Korea, and for treatment of overseas children suffering from rare and incurable diseases.
Park Jin-young said, “I hope that my donation will be a small help and more people will join the donation and help children who will lead the future.”
JYP Entertainment is also continuing social contribution activities for pediatric patients at the company level.
Through the ‘EDM’ (Every Dream Matters!·All dreams in the world are precious) project, from 2020 to 2022, 698 children at home and abroad were supported with medical expenses.
The accumulated treatment cost support fund is 1.35 billion won at the JYP headquarters and 24 million yen at the Japanese branch (approximately 232 million won).
In addition, JYP has granted the wishes of a total of 230 people from 2019 to this year through the ‘EDM Wish Fulfillment Project’, which grants the precious wishes of children struggling with incurable diseases.
This year, the ‘Love Ocean’ project was carried out, and when fans practiced a garbage and carbon reduction mission for a month, JYP donated 10,000 won to beach cleanup activities equal to the number of fans who participated.
