Juventus conceded a draw on the lawn of Bologna (1-1) this Sunday, in Serie A. The Bianconeri do not benefit from Lazio’s loss once morest Inter and the fight for the Champions League is more open than Never.
Without Angel Di Maria, Juventus were held in check on the lawn of Bologna (1-1) on behalf of the 32nd day of Serie A. Massimiliano Allegri’s men remain third in the standings, a small point behind Lazio and 19 lengths from Napoli, still not champion.
The match had started badly for Juventus. From the 8th minute, the team led by Thiago Motta obtained a generous penalty following a slight foul by Danilo on Orsolini. Without going to see the video, the referee, Simone Sozza, designated the penalty spot following the help of his colleague, Paolo Mazzoleni, at the headset. Riccardo Orsolini was responsible for converting the penalty taking Wojciech Szczesny on the wrong foot and thus scoring his ninth league goal this season.
Lukasz Skorupski, Bologna goalkeeper, was particularly decisive this evening. In the 25th, he captured a nice volley from the left of Milik, well served back by Kostic. A few seconds later, he carried out a double rescue in front of Fagioli (26th) with in particular a sublime parry right hand at ground level.
Milik went through all the emotions
Juventus in turn gets a penalty in the 29th minute. This time, following viewing the images, Mr. Sozza felt that Lucumi had committed the fault on Milik in the area. Skorupski proved intractable by pushing back the penalty from his compatriot. Very well helped by the run-up of the former OM player and his little jump completely out of time.
Bologna was very close to the perfect hold-up at the end of the first half but Szczesny repelled Barrow’s attempt (45th).
Entering the 58th, Illing-Junior was decisive immediately. In the 58th, the winger hit the left side, his pass for Chiesa was blocked but Milik followed well. The Pole finally managed to find the way to the net this Sunday evening with a powerful strike from the coach (60th).
Illing-Junior, once more, spared no effort but lacked lucidity. In the 62nd, he managed to eliminate Lucumi with a sublime hook but his shot went well above Skorupski’s goal. Juventus missed the winning ball late in the game. Soulé missed the inevitable following a cross from Illing-Junior that Vlahovic might not take back. The Argentinian found himself alone in front of goal but his shot flew over (85th). In additional time, Juventus might even have been surprised but Szczesny made a nice save with his foot in front of Cambiasso (91st).
With this draw, Juventus did not benefit from Lazio’s defeat once morest Inter (3-1), and remained third in Serie A. With only a 6-point difference between 2nd and 7th, the race to the Champions League is more open than ever in Italy.
