Juventude was unstoppable and won 3-0

Juventude’s offensive strategy paid off at the Alfredo Jaconi stadium and this Sunday they achieved a crushing 3-0 victory on matchday 15 of the Brasil – Campeonato Brasileiro 2024 tournament. The first goal, scored by Gilberto at 24 minutes of the first half, came with skill and precision following a play. The same stage brought with it the consolidation of dominance, when João Lucas extended the lead at 32 minutes with a goal from a play. The final 3-0 was the work of Erick Farias (36 ‘of the second half), with a header.

Gilberto thrilled the stadium with his finish in the 24th minute of the first half. After a play down the left and a shot by the striker from the edge of the area, which Rafael Cabral Barbosa might not reach, the ball entered next to the left post of the opposing goalkeeper.

João Pedro unleashed a tremendous shot in the 21st minute of the first half and the ball hit the post. It was not to be.

The match was very close and intense, with more nerves than play. Several players were cautioned: Lucas Barbosa, Cristian Pavón, Reinaldo and Gustavo Martins.

Juventude coach Roger Machado has planned a 4-5-1 strategy with Gabriel in goal; João Lucas, Danilo Boza, Lucas Freitas and Alan Ruschel in the defensive line; Jádson, Caíque Gonçalves, Lucas Barbosa, Jean Carlos and Erick Farias in the middle; and Gilberto in attack.

For their part, Renato Portaluppi’s team lined up with a 4-3-3 formation with Rafael Cabral between the posts; João Pedro, Pedro Geromel, Gustavo Martins and Reinaldo in defence; Dodi, Mathías Villasanti and Edenílson in midfield; and Franco Cristaldo, Cristian Pavón and Gustavo Nunes up front.

Referee Matheus Delgado Candançan was selected to conduct the game.

Next week Juventude will visit Cuiabá and Grêmio will play once morest Cruzeiro at the Centenario stadium.

After the match, the home team has 19 points and is in eleventh place in the standings. The visiting team has 11 points and is in eighteenth place in the tournament.
