ENTREPRENEUR Jusuf Hamka or Babah Alun resigned from the Golkar Party. Not only that, Babah Alun also withdrew from the nomination as a candidate for deputy governor of Jakarta and West Java.

Babah Alun said that this decision was taken because his family did not agree with him entering the world of politics.

Babah Alun also did not deny that the decision was taken after Airlangga Hartarto had previously resigned from his position as general chairman of the Golkar Party.

Responding to this, Golkar Party DPP Chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily explained that Babah Alun’s resignation from the Party was the right of the person concerned.

“That is his (Babah Alun) right, Mr. Jusuf Hamka has not been officially appointed as a candidate for deputy governor either in West Java or in DKI Jakarta,” said Ace at the Golkar DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday (11/8).

Previously, Airlangga Hartarto officially resigned from the Golkar Party general chairman since Saturday (10/8). The decision was taken after careful consideration and to maintain the integrity of the Golkar Party. (Ykb)
