End clap for the 76th Cannes Film Festival! French director Justine Triet won the Palme d’Or for her film Anatomy of a Fall, a portrait of a widow accused of her husband’s murder. The filmmaker is only the third crowned director in the history of the Festival. On stage, she paid tribute to the “powerful, unanimous protest once morest the pension reform”, which she said was “denied, shockingly repressed”.
