‘Failed’: Justin Timberlake apologizes to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson
New York.After criticism of his previous behavior towards the musicians Britney Spears (39) and Janet Jackson (54), the singer Justin Timberlake (40) apologized to the two. He specifically wanted to apologize to Spears and Jackson “because I care regarding them and respect them and I know I failed,” Timberlake wrote on Instagram on Friday. “I’m deeply sorry for the times in my life when my actions contributed to the problem, when I spoke out of turn, or didn’t speak up for what was right.”

Timberlake: “I don’t want to benefit anymore from putting others down”
Timberlake had previously been accused of publicly sexist and derogatory treatment of both his ex-girlfriend Spears and Jackson, with whom he performed at the 2004 Super Bowl. “This industry is flawed. It’s designed for success for men, especially white men,” Timberlake wrote. “Because of my ignorance, I didn’t realize that while it was happening in my own life, but I no longer want to benefit from others being put down.”
