The performer of the song Sorry added that the bosses of the fast fashion brand had not asked her permission to sell the collection in her image.

“I didn’t approve anything regarding the merchandise they put on sale at H&M… Everything was done without my permission or approval. If I were you, I WOULDN’T BUY IT,” he wrote before adding, “The merch H&M made of me sucks and I didn’t approve of it. Don’t buy it”.

Later on Tuesday, the Swedish clothing giant announced the withdrawal from sale of the collection.

Contacted by AFP, H&M announced that it had withdrawn the entire range from sale “out of respect” for the artist.

“As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M has followed the appropriate approval procedures,” a spokesperson said in an email.

“But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber we have removed the garments from our stores and online,” he added.

H&M has worked for several years with Justin Bieber for products associating his name or his tours.

The range currently on sale included sweaters, T-shirts, phone accessories and a canvas bag.
