Justin Bieber announces that he is paralyzed in half of his face

In a video posted on his Instagram account, the famous singer explained that he no longer had control of half his face.

“As you can probably see on my face, I have Ramsay Hunt syndrome,” he said in the introduction to his video.

This syndrome occurs when the varicella-zoster virus infects a nerve located in the head. The nervous system is then affected, which can lead, as in the case of Bieber, to paralysis of part of the face. In addition to facial paralysis, it can cause hearing loss.

Earlier in the week, the singer had canceled two dates in Toronto which were to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. “For those who are frustrated with the cancellation of my upcoming shows, I’m just not in a physical state to do them,” he explained.

“It’s really serious,” alerted the star, but he wanted to reassure that he was doing “all the exercises to regain control of his face.”
