It seems that the crisis experienced by the justice sector as a result of the strike that the Registry of Courts in the Kingdom’s courts has entered into will find its way to a solution.
According to informed sources, the Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting yesterday, Thursday, in the presence of the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Wahbi, and the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, during which this file was discussed.
According to the same sources, the aforementioned meeting concluded with the start of a series of meetings and dialogues with professional unions at the beginning of next week, in order to resolve the tension experienced by the courts in protest against the expected basic law.
The justice sector unions had announced in separate statements their intention to engage in protest steps that paralyzed court sessions starting last Tuesday.
In addition, these unions announced another strike that will last for three days next week, if the ministry supervising the sector does not respond to the demands of the court clerks, which are the agreed-upon obligations to issue the agreed-upon formula of the basic system of the court clerks’ body.
The same unions explained that the announced steps come in protest against “the elimination of what remains of the duties of the Registry Office in the draft Civil Procedure Code, and thus the total elimination of all material and legal gains is completed.”
These developments have created concern among the women and men of the Registry Authority, who have lost confidence in the social dialogue institution in recent years, while the government has been called upon to implement the commitments agreed upon with the Ministry of Justice by issuing the agreed-upon formula from the statute of the Registry Authority, in a way that ensures sparing a sensitive and vital sector further tension.
