Christiane was infected following a blood donation in 1980, since then she has lost everything, her job, her house, her health: Hepatitis C, various disabling illnesses, a grueling life spent in hospital.
Despite a fight which lasted more than 30 years, Christiane was never seriously compensated not only by the administrative justice system, which was indifferent and turned a deaf ear, but above all by the insurance company AXA France which totally despised her and did not accept her. never compensated as it should.
Thirty years ago, Christiane received a ridiculous sum which in no way corresponds to what she should have been given for these serious losses, even though her life has been destroyed since her contamination, she has lost everything. Of course the lawyers of the State and AXA are fighting with great resources to avoid any revision, faced with a woman who is alone, isolated, poor and sick.
This is very serious. Christiane suffers a lot, both physically and morally. She is at the end of her strength especially since her husband recently died. She explains that now, following having lost everything, she has nothing more to lose and that from now on her only wish is to be heard and for that she will fight to the end even if she has to die!
Christiane is a very courageous woman with a big heart. When I met her and her husband several years ago, she did not hesitate to come to meet me to give me things to support a young homeless woman who was on the street. Despite her illness, Christiane has always fought for just and noble causes, in order to support the weakest.
Christiane is a wonderful woman who does not deserve such treatment, she has suffered from it for too long, she is fighting this fight for herself, but also for the memory of all the victims of contaminated blood.
Today the situation is serious, and urgent, it is a question of life and death! Despite her illness, Christiane has been on hunger strike for more than 20 days. This cannot continue, we must act and support her as quickly as possible!
French politicians quickly turned the page and played innocent while waiting for time to pass and the victims of contaminated blood to die one following the other.
Christiane refuses to be silent but she needs all of us to be heard!
