The case of national deputy Mwangachouchou is picking up cruising speed.
As expected, the substantive examination began on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. The latter is tried in flagrante delicto proceedings before the High Military Court.
Mwangachouchou acknowledged during this hearing that the ammunition found in his residence is that of his personal army. This army was set up on the authorization of the Ministry of the Interior under the Kabila regime.

Reacting to a question from one of the lawyers of the Republic on how to open a safe seized among so many other objects, Édouard Mwangachouchou showed signs of nervousness. He said that it is no longer possible to open it with a key or code, because it would be damaged.
« It’s too late Mr. They (security services editor’s note) damaged the safe. I told them that the safe only suffers with two keys. We never used the code. They didn’t want to listen to me. I asked to call my wife who should bring the second key, they refused. They brought the people who broke everything “, he said.
At the end of the debate, the High Military Court promised to bring in an expert to open this safe. Otherwise, it will proceed with the breakage. The next hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4.
42 munitions of war were found during a search of the residence of national deputy Édouard Mwangachouchou on March 3 in Gombe.
The latter is prosecuted for participation in an insurrectionary movement, illegal possession of munitions of war and incitement of soldiers to commit acts contrary to duty or discipline.
