Justice finally authorized Dieudonné’s show this Friday evening in Mulhouse. However, the Haut-Rhin prefecture had banned it due to the local context being particularly sensitive to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
No risk of disturbing public order
In the judgment sent to AFP by the comedian’s entourage, the Strasbourg administrative court considers that no particular circumstances make it possible to establish “the alleged risk of disturbing public order”. Furthermore, justice considers that there is no element to consider that this spectacle would be “likely to favor the importation onto French soil of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict”.
Dieudonné’s show has been performed in several cities in recent weeks without giving “place of clashes” added the administrative court. Asked by AFP, the Haut-Rhin prefecture did not wish to react.
In September, a Dieudonné show planned at the Zénith in Paris, “The Madman’s Cage”, had been banned by the police chief due to “risk of serious disturbances to public order” in view of his repeated anti-Semitic remarks. A Parisian ban which was added to those taken during the summer in Lyon, Grenoble, Montpellier and Toulouse.
