The closer, the closer it is. An entire European season of following Israel’s position in the UEFA rankings ended with a feeling of being missed. Although we were within touching distance of a place in the top 15, leading to two representatives in the champions, in the end Israel finished in 17th place 23/24 and at the end of the current season of the Premier League Only one team will have the right to participate in the Champions Qualifiers.
Now the 24/25 season has arrived, and thrown out of the count (the ranking takes into account the last 5 seasons) the weak 19/20 season, and here, a new opportunity has opened. Yes, there is a war here, the foreigners don’t want to come and our representation will not have a home advantage, but all they have to do for Israel to have two representations in the championships is a reasonable season, no more.
Why? Because Israel opens 24/25 in 11th place in the UEFA rankings. Yes, one place away from the top ten. In other words, no less than five countries have to overtake us to deny us a place in the top 15.
