A jury convicted Weinstein of rape and indecent assault on one woman, but acquitted him of charges related to a second alleged victim.
The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the rape accusation by Jennifer Seibel Newsom, wife of California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, nor did it reach a verdict on the charges involving one other woman.
Weinstein, 70, was convicted of sexual misconduct in New York in February 2020. He was transferred from New York to a prison in Los Angeles in July 2021.
Weinstein has appealed his conviction and 23 years in prison in New York. Weinstein might face up to 140 years in prison if convicted on all counts in Los Angeles.
