German coach Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s coach, said on Friday that he spoke with Mohamed Salah, after the injury suffered by the Egyptian national team captain in the match against Ghana.
Mohamed Salah fell to the ground injured and asked for a substitution, only to be forced out in the first minute of stoppage time, and Mustafa Fathi participated in his place, in the match that ended in a 2-2 draw.
Klopp said: “We don’t know anything yet. I spoke to him yesterday and there was an evaluation of his condition. He will undergo a medical examination later and we will know more at that time.”
He continued: “Salah was shocked the moment he was injured and was unable to know what he was exposed to suddenly and with extreme force. He felt it directly.”
He continued: “We know that it is rare for Salah to leave matches, so something must have happened to him.”
The Liverpool coach concluded his speech: “But currently I do not have more information. He will undergo a medical examination with an ultrasound and an MRI, and then we will see.”
Earlier, Egypt’s national team doctor, Mohamed Abu El-Ela, explained that Salah is suffering from pain in the posterior muscle and that he is undergoing medical examinations to determine the extent of the injury.
