Mario Götze (29 years old), who finds beautiful colors with the PSV this season, had the chance to evolve under the orders of two of the greatest coaches of modern history: Jürgen Klopp (from 2009 to 2013 in Dortmund) and Pep Guardiola (from 2013 to 2016 at Bayern). In an interview given to Daily Mailthe 2014 world champion recounts his experience under the two tacticians.

“Jürgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are the most important coaches and characters I have had in my career.”

City and Liverpool are in contention for the Premier League title this season, and meet this weekend: “The title race in England this season is great to watch. It looked very different a few months ago, but I think In the end, City will win. That’s my opinion.”

“Klopp probably had the biggest impact on my career. He can be very demanding – he can be your friend but also very tough at the same time. He pushes you to perform great. That’s what happened with me then, and that’s what’s happening with Liverpool now. He’s a manager, not just for the players but for everyone at the club, and one-on-one he can be both a friend and a boss. Klopp’s strength is to talk to the players in a certain way, to help them.”

“But if you meet Pep off the pitch, he’s a great guy. You can talk to him about your family, private things, he’s a great person. But if you play in his team, he’s very demanding. It’s a good thing because he pushes you a lot, but sometimes you need a different angle as a player.”
