Jurgen Klinsmann is the new coach of South Korea

South Korea appoints German football legend Jurgen Klinsmann as head coach. The contract period is till 2026. The former German coach will arrive in Seoul next week and begin his duties with a friendly once morest Colombia on March 24, the Korea Football Association said.

Klinsmann replaces Paolo Bento, who stepped down following South Korea’s loss to Brazil in last year’s World Cup in Qatar. It is a pleasure to follow in the footsteps of great coaches who have led the Korean national team, from Guus Hiddink to Paulo Bento. Jürgen responded that he will try his best to bring the team to victory in the upcoming Asian Cup and 2026 World Cup.

South Korea is the third national team to be coached by the former German striker who won the 1990 World Cup. After retiring in 1998, he coached Germany from 2004 to 2006 and the United States from 2011 to 2016. He coached Bayern Munich for 10 months during the 2008–09 season. He last coached German professional football club Hertha Berlin. It was from November 2019 to January 2020.
