A driver lost control of his motorcycle on Saturday followingnoon when he was traveling “probably at excessive speed”, according to the Jura cantonal police.
A motorcyclist died on Saturday followingnoon around 2:30 p.m. while traveling on the main road of Les Malettes towards Saint-Ursanne (JU), the Jura cantonal police said in a press release. He lost control of his motorcycle “probably as a result of excessive speed” in a left curve near the place called “Le Maran”. He then crashed violently into the guardrail.
Despite the care provided by the ambulance service of the Jura hospital as well as by Rega doctors, the motorcyclist lost his life at the scene of the accident as a result of his injuries. The section of road in question was closed to traffic for regarding 3 hours, said the cantonal police.
