The man who voluntarily presented himself on Friday at the Jupille police station claiming to have killed a father and his daughter using a knife was placed under arrest warrant for murder, said Saturday at the end of the day the Liège public prosecutor’s office. During his hearing, the suspect explained that his neighbor had taunted him regarding a conviction dating from April 2023.
The events occurred late Friday morning in rue des Cannoniers in Jupille. Neighbors alerted the police around 11:20 a.m. following hearing screams, explained the Liège prosecutor’s office. On site, police found the bodies of a father and his daughter who had been stabbed several times. The sixty-year-old, alleged perpetrator, went to the local police station around noon, claiming that he was the perpetrator of the stabbings.
During his hearing before the investigating judge, he explained that he was rehashing an eight-month prison sentence handed down in April 2023 for around fifteen acts of harassment and threats, committed between 2017 and 2022.
On Friday, his neighbor allegedly taunted him regarding this conviction, which pushed him to take action. The suspect took out a knife and stabbed the father several times, before attacking the latter’s daughter, “leaving the two victims no chance”, added the prosecution.
