The 29-year-old midfielder arrived in Ghent in 2021 from Kortrijk, where he played three years. He had previously worn the jerseys of Standard, his training club, Middlesbrough, Derby County and Zulte Waregem.
“After three years in Ghent, I am happy and proud to be able to continue my adventure here,” declares Julien De Sart, whose name was mentioned abroad, notably in the Bundesliga.
The Liégeois played 138 matches with the Buffalos. This season, he has scored six goals and given three assists.
After Sven Kums’ contract extension last month, another big name from the Ghent locker room is extending his lease in the city of Artevelde. “He is a leader and an example of maturity. It was obvious to us that he is one of the pawns around whom we want to build our team,” says club boss Sam Baro.
