These stars are in the final
Day 15 in the jungle camp: The last “Big Five” had to take the exam together. Three of them can now hope for victory.
On Friday evening the semi-finals of “I’m a star – get me out of here!” (RTL and RTL+). For the first time, the penultimate and tight decision was made only among men: ex-“Bachelorette” candidate Filip Pavlovic (27), actor Eric Stehfest (32), designer Harald Glööckler (56), ex-“Prince Charming” candidate Manuel Flickinger ( 33) and bodyguard legend Peter Althof (66) hoped to make it to the final. But only three were happy in the end.
No understanding for refusers
The exam refusers Anouschka Renzi (57) and Harald Glööckler were initially upset regarding the animal task that they were given last. “Exams like this are exactly why I never wanted to go into the jungle,” Anouschka fumed. Harald then had to explain to his fellow campers: “In a nutshell: we don’t have any points, but the chances for you are increased that you get the crown and not us.”
“None of you might have done that,” emphasized Anouschka. Eric had a different opinion, he would have taken the exam. “Jump into a sauce like that, what’s the point? No reason to throw in the towel.” He didn’t accept Harald’s vegetarian argument either. “He should have thought regarding that beforehand. That’s what makes the jungle, to face exactly these things. You have to jump over every shadow and grit your teeth.”
Troubled friendship and perseverance in the camp
Before Anouschka went back to civilization, she wanted to get rid of other things. “You’re insanely dominant, I’m intimidated by you,” she explained to her good friend Harald at the end and added on the jungle phone: “I don’t like it when he’s with me like someone he doesn’t know.” The designer was annoyed: “Just because I’m quick-witted and quick. She’s always worried that she’ll come across as weird and stupid. She then projects that onto me.” He feels rebuked, “then I’ll withdraw a little bit.” Anouschka gave in: “I love you and will always be there for you.” But the actress was sure from then on: “I will never do such a format once more.”
After deciding that she had to leave the camp, she mightn’t leave her fellow campers fast enough. “It’s enough for me. I can’t take it anymore.” She wanted to go to the hotel immediately because she was not feeling well. After a doctor’s check, the all-clear was given (unfortunately) and Anouschka had to spend the last hours sleeping in the camp. “I was myself, even if I mightn’t show my happier side, I’ve never seen it as a show, unlike Harald, for example,” she drew a mixed jungle conclusion.
Declaration of love following a traumatic past
In conversation with Peter, Eric then looked back on a dark time in the life of his wife and their marriage. “We had a rape trial. Edith was raped when she was 17. She was under the influence of knockout drops, she didn’t know it anymore. She then had to watch the full video of her being raped,” he revealed. The whole thing only came out many years later, when they were already married. The perpetrator has been convicted and is serving his sentence.
The incident changed the couple’s life “from one day to the next”. “Every day is a struggle trying to pull yourself or your wife out of this vortex of thoughts and images in your head.” He was a good-hearted person, but the hatred and anger was “very, very big”. “It’s disgusting to have to deal with such thoughts. The more court days we had, the more that was spoken for us, the more and more we came to such peace with it.” The last three years the couple had to heal. “Our love is now stronger than ever. Edith is my everything, I love her with all my heart. I am the knight at her side who will protect her from now on.”
Leaderless group of men and the finalist decision
As soon as the last woman left the camp, the jungle gang had to regroup. Cooking in particular became a challenge. Above all, Filip saw the advantages: “Men, we can now do what we want. We can even walk around here naked if you feel like it.” Manuel, who felt “honoured” to hold office for the third time, started as the team boss of the men’s flat share. Harald, on the other hand, was less enthusiastic regarding the election. He doesn’t yet know what to think of Manuel’s self-confident change from “meerkat to lion”.
The “Big Five” then went together to the “Creek of the Stars” test. One following the other, the stars had to collect stars and hold out with them at a certain mark. Masses of water, balls, gusts of wind or logs rained down on them. At the end of the day, each camper had to be on their marked spot with their star. After a few setbacks, the men’s squad finally got the win. “Five-star menu tonight,” said camp boss Manuel.
The “great team” then had to part with two members: it wasn’t enough for Peter and Harald. But one of them was not at all sad regarding it: Harald, who was in poor health, said goodbye calmly and was happy for his comrades-in-arms. With regard to the final, he also made it clear: “I wouldn’t have done the disgust test anyway.” Filip, Manuel and Eric will fight for the crown and the title “Jungle King 2022” on Saturday evening.
