It’s 2022 at Junaeb has faced a number of criticisms by high school students, mainly for their food preparations.
From the institution they defended themselves and in conversation with El Mercurio they assured that the eating habits of students changed during confinement for the pandemic.
“The combination of flavor and nutrition is a constant challenge for Junaeb, which with the return to presence in establishments was even more affected due to the fact that the students returned with eating habits from their home”they commented.
In his opinion, this requires starting a new job with the population served, one that “allows make them aware of the taste for foods such as salads, fruitsvegetable stews, legumes, among others”.
“(The lack of presence) The advanced path intervened with the students in food routines. (We follow) the guidelines described by health entities in aspects such as salt content, (avoid) high-fat preparations, among others”, they added from Junaeb.
Beyond having protocols for sexual complaints and calls to improve the educational infrastructure, recent protests and criticism have also targeted Junaeb meals.
For example, in the manifestations of the Liceo de Aplicacion, an “adequate and proportional diet for the student’s day” was requested, including breakfast, lunch and eleven o’clock.

Junaeb reports problems left by the previous government
In his response to El Mercurio, Junaeb also stated that the last government of Sebastián Piñera he left some provisions on his departure.
That translated into problems at the beginning of the school year.
“We have major problems regarding the acceptability of some products and preparations. We think they were made profound changes in the minutes without having tested them sufficiently”they launched

According to figures provided by the institution, So far in 2022, it has fined 19 companies for $7,159 million.
In response to criticism, Junaeb is already considering implementing some solutions such as eliminating little-known preparations and that bread will return to breakfast more frequently.
