Kozhikode: A housewife died after jumping into the well to save her grandson who had fallen into the well in Koduvalli. Ramla (48), wife of Muhammad Koya of Parappara Chetyamkunnummal in East, died. The incident happened around 4:30 pm today.

Aziz’s three-year-old son accidentally fell into the well while playing in the backyard. Ramla jumped into the well to save the child. The local residents who rushed to the well rescued the child who was holding on to the pipe. That’s when Ramla was found dead in the well.

The body was recovered by fire brigade from Narikuni.
