The Jumbo-Visma team won the first stage of the 9th edition of the Vuelta Feminine on Monday, a 14.5 kilometer team time trial contested around Torrevieja, in southern Spain. First to cross the finish line, Briton Anna Henderson grabs the first red jersey.

On a completely flat course, the Dutch formation won with a small second advantage over the Canyon//Sram Racing team. The American Trek-Segafredo team took third place in this time trial, 9 seconds behind the winners.

Led by Marianne Vosthe Jumbo-Visma crossed the finish line in 18:03, at an average speed of 49.517 km/h.

Unsurprisingly, we only find World Tour teams on the podium.

As for the two big favorites of this Tour of Spain, the Dutch Annemiek Van Vleuten and Movistar finished just off the podium, 12 seconds behind the winners, while her compatriot Demi Volleringwho won everything in the Ardennes, completes the top 5 with the SD Worx team (+14 seconds).

On Tuesday, the sprinters should play for victory in the second stage, 105.8 kilometers long between Orihuela and Pilar de la Horadada. Only a fourth category climb will spice up the day.
