Jumbo-Visma ‘steals’ a jewel from the INEOS Grenadiers – International Cycling

The Dutch outfit won its first Tour de France, but that doesn’t detract from its focus as a talent developer for the future. The World Tour block won the arm wrestling match once morest INEOS Grenadiers and took over the young man’s services Thomas Gloag.

As VeloNews reported, the ‘bees’ squad would have reached an agreement for several seasons with the 20-year-old Briton. This campaign he might not run the Giro d’Italia Sub 23 or the Tour de l’Avenir because his Trinity Racing team was not invited, but the results obtained in 2021 allowed him to capture the attention of several World Tours.

Among them was the INEOS Grenadiers, a team from his homeland that invited him to a training camp last European winter. However, it seems that it was not enough to convince Gloag to join the grenadiers. The native of East Dulwich has opted for the offer of the Jumbo-Visma, where it will take place for at least three seasons.

Last year, Gloag was 4th in the Giro d’Italia Sub 23, surpassed by three cyclists who have already made the leap to professionals. In that same campaign, Tom was destined for the top 10 of the Tour de l’Avenir, but he dropped out on the last day. He recovered to close out the season, taking 6th at the Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23 and 3rd at the Ronde de l’Isard, where he also took a stage win.
